Make a Difference Day United Way

VICKSBURG, MS – Last week, United Way of West Central Mississippi hosted its annual Make a Difference Day, dedicated to honoring the tireless efforts of local first responders. The scene was set with the aroma of grilled hamburgers and the sounds of 80s favorite hits playing in the background, the event was a heartfelt celebration of gratitude for those who keep our community safe.

Goldie’s Express provided the hamburgers, serving them up as first responders arrived at the United Way parking lot. This tradition not only offers a way to feed the first responders who work tirelessly day in and day out, but also serves as a meaningful way to recognize the dedication and sacrifices made by our local heroes.

“Every year, we look forward to this day as a way to give back to those who give so much,” said Michele Connelly, Executive Director of United Way of West Central Mississippi. “Our first responders are the backbone of our community, and this event allows us to show our appreciation for their hard work and commitment to keeping us safe.”

The Make a Difference Day event is just one of the ways United Way of West Central Mississippi aims to uplift and engage with the community. This year’s event was a wonderful reminder of the importance of coming together to celebrate those who dedicate their lives to serving others.
