Warren Central tennis team shutout Florence on Monday

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — The Warren Central High School tennis team earned a 7-0 shutout victory over Florence on Monday at Halls Ferry.

In boys singles, Duke Esparza defeated Grayson Trammell 6-0, 6-4.

Makayla Bufkin cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lily Dear in girls singles.

Warren Central swept both boys doubles matches. In No. 1 doubles, Sam Harris and Brady Taylor topped Hudson Lehigh and Landry Varner 6-0, 6-0. In No. 2 doubles, Gray Lampkin and Corbin Crews defeated Cameron Sones and Hunter Isbel 6-1, 6-0.

The Lady Vikes were equally dominant in doubles play. In girls No. 1 doubles, Lilli Feibelman and Avery Hern beat Skylar Sanger and Kristen Holmes 6-0, 6-0. Ellie Tennison and Marlee Soloman secured a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Savannah Tucker and Kinzie Greer in girls No. 2 doubles.

In mixed doubles, Luke Bond and Sydney Sullivan closed out the sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 win against Annakate Dudley and Tak Toyota.

With the victory, Warren Central won all seven matches in straight sets to complete the shutout.
