WC softball team picked up two wins in the Brookhaven Tournament

Vicksburg, Miss.(VDN)–Warren Central High School softball team picked up two wins in the Brookhaven Tournament on Friday. The Lady Vikes took down Loyd Star and Bogue Chitto to win their third consecutive game.
Game one: WC 2 Loyd Star 0
WC earned their first run in the opening inning after Maddy Pant hit an RBI that led to MK Ferguson running to home plate. The Lady Vikes got the final run of the game in the third when Kennadi Williams smashed a single to bring home Ferguson as they secured the 2-0 win.
Ferguson was perfect at the plate by going 3 for 3 and Williams finished 1 for 2 with one RBI. Pant struck out six batters and allowed three hits.

Game two: WC 13 Bogue Chitto 0
In game two, WC had no issues putting away Bogue Chitto in a 13-0 shutout.
The Lady Vikes got four runs after RBIs from Williams, Addie Mullen, and Sydney Hern. KeKe McKay hit a 2-run triple in the second inning while Pant, Mullen, and Hern all hit RBIs to push the score to 9-0.
McKay hit another single in the third to give WC a 10-run lead. In the fourth and final inning, Whitley Parks hit a 2-run single while Ferguson nailed an RBI.
KK Williamson struck out six batters in the win. Ferguson hit a triple while McKay(3 RBIs) and Parks(2 RBIs) both went 2 for 3 at the plate. Williamson and Hern(1 RBI) each had one hit while Pant and Williams both hit an RBI.
The Lady Vikes will travel to play Clinton on Monday.
