11 arrested, one wanted in Deputy Terrian Bailey’s murder

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Mississippi Department of Public Safety, MDPS, has announced 11 people have been arrested in connection with the shooting of Claiborne County Sheriff Deputy Terrian Bailey.

According to reports, Deputy Bailey was attempting to help disperse a large crowd in the early morning hours of Monday, Sept. 7, when he was shot. Bailey was pronounced deceased at a local hospital later that day.

The following 11 individuals were arrested and charged with first-degree murder, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit murder:

Adolphous Butler, 26

Demond Hunt, 19

Emanual Jackson, 21

Jordan Lighter, 24

Yehoiada Marshall, 24

Keith Miller, 23

Marqueese Richards, 19

Eli O’Conner Robinson, 19

Kearuis Stimage, 24

Alvin Truitt, 20

Hedrick Wallace, 18

Law enforcement officials have also announced Zander Cornell Butler, 21, is still at large and wanted in connection with the shooting. Butler is described as 5’09”, weighs 106 pounds, and has brown eyes and hair. He is wanted for first-degree murder, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit murder.

“Today’s arrests reflect the determination and collaboration of law enforcement at every level to pursue justice for Deputy Bailey, his family and the community he served,” said MDPS Commissioner Sean Tindell. “I am grateful to every investigator, agent, and officer who worked tirelessly on this case. We will continue working together to hold those responsible for violent crime accountable and keep Mississippians safe.”
