Active incident and alert resolved in Hattiesburg – parking garage closed

UPDATE — 2:31 – An Eagle Alert reports, “Law Enforcement Officers have safely resolved the incident on the Hattiesburg campus. The parking garage will remain closed until further notice.”

There is an active incident at the University of Southern Mississippi that is involving campus police, the Hattiesburg Police Department and, according to one report a SWAT team.

An “Eagle Alert” was sent out at 1:10 p.m. regarding an active incident in the parking garage on the Hattiesburg Campus. According to the alert, students, faculty and staff have been told to avoid the area.
