Porter’s Chapel Academy fell short 74-50 in their season opener on Friday against River Oaks Academy. Despite the loss, PCA’s Jase Jung broke a 1976 school record for rushing touchdowns as he is now 44. Earl Johnson previously held the record with 40.

The Mustangs got on the board first with a 55-yard score. The Eagles quickly responded when quarterback Chad Fuson hit Jung on a 28-yard pass. Jung scored on the next play to put the score at 8-6. River Oaks quickly scored again but Auston broke out for a 37-yard score and Jung ran in the two-point conversion to tie the game at 14-14.

Jung scored another rushing touchdown but by halftime, PCA trailed 60-28. On the first play after halftime, the Mustangs scored again and Jung would score twice in the second half along with catching an interception.

A pick 6 and a kick return would keep River Oaks on top but Lakelan Pecanty also scored on a 39-yard run for PCA.
