Vicksburg’s Shane Lewis Hit 3 Home Runs over the Weekend

Vicksburg, Miss.-Vicksburg native and Troy University baseball player Shane Lewis hit three home runs over the weekend. Troy defeated Bellarmine in a three-game series on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Shane’s best performance was in the final game where he went 3 for 4 at bat with two home runs.

Junior (2024)
Made 32 appearances with 26 starts. Posted a .176 batting average, .367 on-base percentage and .407 slugging percentage in 91 at-bats. Racked up 16 hits, 10 extra base hits, 18 walks and 10 hit-by-pitches. 25 career hit-by-pitches rank sixth in Troy history. Blasted five home runs. 32 career home runs rank eighth in school history. Tied a career-high with four hits against SIU-Edwardsville on February 17. Hit two home runs at Indiana on March 10, including Troy’s longest homer of the season at 475 feet … Sparked Troy’s 6-run ninth at Louisiana on May 5 with a double. Subbed in against JMU on May 18, hitting a home run and scoring three runs. Fielded .932 with 41 putouts  

Sophomore (2023)
Started in all 62 games played for 217 at-bats and a .286 batting average. Led the Trojans in slugging percentage (.705), on-base percentage (.436), runs scored (62), RBIs (77), homers (27), total bases (153), walks (45). Shattered the Troy baseball program’s single-season home run record with his 27th on May 19 against App State. Earned American Baseball Coaches Association All-Southeast Regional First Team, Dick Howser Trophy Semifinalist, ABCA/Rawlings All-America Third Team, Sun Belt Player and Newcomer of the Year and All-Sun Belt First Team after ranking in the top five in conference for walks (fifth), homers (first), RBIs (second), RBIs per game (fourth – 1.24), slugging percentage (third) and total bases (second). Hammered five multi-home run games at two against USC-Upstate, Georgia State, ULM, Jacksonville State and Georgia Southern. Recorded five straight games with a homer from April 28 – May 6 – totaled seven. Opened the year with nine RBIs against Evansville – finished with a team-high 19 multi-RBI games, including a team-high three at 5-plus. Claimed the longest hitting streak for Troy at 12 from April 16 – May 6. Took home Sun Belt Player of the Week (Week 3), hitting .615 (8-for-13), slugging 1.538 with 14 RBIs, scoring five runs and hammering four homers. Repeated as Sun Belt Player of the Week (Week 10) on a .500 (7-for-14) batting average, 1.071 slugging percentage, two doubles, two homers, six runs scored and 11 RBIs. Walked off against Southern Miss on April 1 in the 10th inning with a 351 foot homer

Chipola College (2022)
Panhandle Regional Champion. All-state and All-Panhandle first-team outfielder. Led country in home runs, RBIs, slugging, and OPS for half the season. Finished the season with 15 home runs, 68 RBIs, and a .312 average. Recorded two home runs, and a seven RBI game against Pensacola
