PORT GIBSON, Miss. (VDN) — Grand Gulf employees donated more than $3,000 of their charity golf tournament winnings to Jacob’s Ladder in Vicksburg, a learning center for adults with special needs.

This is the second year Meredith Spencer, John Steverson and Andy Steverson have chosen Jacob’s Ladder as their beneficiary.

“I’ve known several individuals who are a part of this program for years,” Spencer said. “Jacob’s Ladder makes such a positive impact on adults with special needs, helping them learn valuable skills.”

Jacob’s Ladder is a nonprofit organization that provides purposeful activities such as field trips, food preparation, science experiments and more to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

In all, the tournament raised more than $6,000. The other team’s winnings went to the Lily Pad organization in Ridgeland.
