Jonathan Temple, II: 1999-2025
UTICA, Mississippi — With heavy hearts, we share the unexpected passing of Jonathan Guyton Temple, II, age 26, of Utica, Mississippi, Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
Guyton passed away doing what he loved most – working the land and preparing it for hunting. The outdoors was his sanctuary, and he found true joy and peace in the woods. Guyton inherited his passion for hunting from his father, Jonathan, and Gran-gran, Greg Kitchens. His love of hunting and nature was in everything he did and will forever remain part of his legacy.
Born July 16, 1999, Guyton was the beloved son of Leigh Kitchens and Jonathan Temple. He attended Central Hinds Academy and graduated with the Class of 2017. He continued his education at The University of Mississippi where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Guyton was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity where he made many lasting and true friends.
Guyton is preceded in death by his father, Jonathan Temple of Clinton, and grandfathers, Greg Kitchens of Utica and L. C. Temple of Clinton. He is survived by his mother, Leigh Kitchens; grandmother, Cynthia Reed Kitchens; aunt, Robyn Birdsong (Jon); and cousins, Colton Birdsong, and Levi Birdsong – all of Utica. He is also survived by his grandmother, Gail Jabour, aunts Beth Trammell (Rob) and Tracye Crowder (Jeff); and cousins, Mackenzie Coleman, Trevor Pettway, Parker Coleman, Josh Crowder, and Cole Crowder.
Guyton will be remembered for his infectious smile, clever wit, unwavering work ethic, his love for family and friends, and the countless memories he created with them.
Services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Utica Christian Church with Rev. Brad Hartzog officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with the funeral at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Utica Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Peyton Banes, Cooper Currie, Max Currie, Wills Hardegree, Dallas Martin, Tato Martin, Chomp Smith, Mason Sollie, Cole specks, Wayne Stabiler, Alex Singletary, and John Mark Stewart.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southern Outdoors Unlimited at P. O. Box 2305, Ridgeland, MS 39158.
