Bond set at $450,000 for 15-year-old murder suspect in Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Bond has been set for a 15-year-old murder suspect in Vicksburg.

On Sunday, September 7, 2025, at approximately 1416 hours, Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department responded to The Park at Milestone Apartments, 3600 Common Circle, for a gunshot victim.

In the Investigation Ramonta May shot 14 year old JaZachary Williams.

Williams was transported to the Children’s Hospital in Jackson MS, where he was being treated. On Monday, September 8, 2025, May, initially was charged with Aggravated Assault and at his initial appearance bond was set at three hundred and fifty thousand dollars by Municipal Court Judge Angela Carpenter.

On Wednesday September 10, 2025, Williams died from his injuries. On Thursday, September 11, 2025, May appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter for his initial appearance on the upgraded charge of 2nd Degree Murder. May’s bond was set at four hundred fifty thousand dollars.
