Pastor Burks remembered

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A Vicksburg family is paying tribute to their loved one, Pastor Phillip Burks. In an open letter to the community, they said:

Dear Family and Friends,
It has been seven months since the passing of my beloved husband, Pastor Phillip Burks. While my daughter, Apostle Latasha Burks Jackson, expressed our appreciation through a message on Facebook,
I’ve been carrying the desire in my heart to personally thank each of you. Though her words were heartfelt, I needed to say thank you myself because your love and support meant more than words can
express.

Seven months a number often associated with completion in the eyes of God, feels like the right time to pause and reflect on the overwhelming kindness that was shown to me and my family. From the
prayers you lifted on our behalf, to the phone calls filled with encouragement, to the meals lovingly prepared and delivered, you were there. You stood in the gap, and we felt it deeply.

Most of all, I thank you for your prayers. I truly believe that heaven heard you. Your intercession carried us through some of our darkest days. The love you poured out to the Burks family will never be forgotten.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for every act of kindness, every word of comfort, and every moment of support. May God richly bless each of you, just as you have blessed us.
