VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Georgia Lee Durman, a Vicksburg resident, passed away to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Merit Health River Region Medical Center.  She was 76.  Durman was an educator for the Vicksburg Warren School District.   She was a graduate of Alcorn State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 1971, and Mississippi State University. where she earned her Master’s of Education Degree. She was the former director of the family literacy program for the Good Shepherd Community Center, where she served for 15 and a half years. She also taught the adult education GED class for over 18 years. She was a member of the Trinity Temple Baptist Church, the retired teachers association, and the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority 

She was preceded in death by her parents Issac and Daisy Lee Correll Lee, Sr, and her brothers Henry Lee and Jimmie Lee.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Eugene Durman; her daughters Keashye Durman of Nashville, Tenn., and Toni Eugenia Durman of Dallas, Texas; her brother Issac Lee Jr of Jackson, Miss.; and her sisters Martha West of Memphis, Tenn., Ora Phinisee of Greenville, S.C., and Debra Fields of Jackson, Miss.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and relatives.

Graveside services are to be held on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m.  in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Reverend James Archer officiating.
