VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Jessie Richard Wilson, a Vicksburg resident passed away on Sunday, Oct. 9, in the Merit Health River Region Medical Center following a brief illness.  He was 64, and worked as a logger. 

Wilson was preceded in death by his parents Lee Charles and Mattie Mae Lewis; his paternal grandparents Countee and Teresha Wilson; and paternal grandparents Otha and Laura Warren.

Jessie Richard Wilson Sr is survived by his sisters: Polly AnnEvans, Clara Cook (Charlie), Pamela Wilson, Reatha Lee Crear, Paula Wilson (Amos); his brothers: Paul Wilson and Levi Williams.

Jessie Richard Wilson Sr leaves to cherish his memory his life partner Lula Mae Newell of Rolling Fork, MS; Step kids: Shermerica McGee, Kendrick McGee, and Kenneth McGee, his children: Jessie Williams Sr., LaJessica Miller, Savanna Miller, Jamarko Curry, Jaronda Curry, Jessica Curry, Deja Ivory, Jessie Wilson Jr., and Jessiah Wilson. His loved and bonus children Hattie Williams, Lameka Miller and Danny Curry. His uncles Eris Wilson and Leonard Walter Spicer; aunts Polly Brown, Katie Selvy, Wanda Lowe, and Julia Mohead.

Jessie Richard Wilson Sr had 24 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins as well as a host of other relatives, friends, and love ones.

Funeral services for Wilson are to be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, beginning at 1 p.m. in the chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Reverend Johnie Williams officiating; interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 31, in the funeral home from 5p.m. till 6 p.m.
