Ballet Mississippi brings holiday magic to life with “The Nutcracker” at Jackson Prep
JACKSON, Miss. (VDN) — Ballet Mississippi is proud to present its beloved annual production of “The Nutcracker”, running December 4, 6, and 7, 2025, at the Fortenberry Theater on the campus of Jackson Preparatory School in Flowood.
This timeless holiday classic features enchanting choreography, stunning costumes, and Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score, brought to life by dancers from across the region under the artistic direction of David Keary. A treasured tradition for families across Central Mississippi, “The Nutcracker” invites audiences into Clara’s magical journey from the sparkling party scene to her adventures with the Nutcracker Prince and the dazzling Land of Sweets.

- Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
- Sunday, Dec. 7, at 3 p.m.
A Sugar-Coated Tradition: The Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party
Back by popular demand, Ballet Mississippi also invites young audience members and their families to attend the Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party, held prior to each matinee performance. Guests will enjoy sweet treats, magical photo opportunities, and special appearances by cast members, including the Sugar Plum Fairy herself.
Tea Party Dates and Times:
- Saturday, Dec. 6, at 1:00 p.m.
- Sunday, Dec. 7, at 1:00 p.m.
Held in the Multi-Purpose Room at Jackson Prep
Tickets for “The Nutcracker” and the Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party are available now at www.balletms.com. Both events are expected to sell out, and early reservations are encouraged.
This year’s production also features exclusive original artwork by celebrated Mississippi watercolorist Wyatt Waters, created specifically for Ballet Mississippi’s Nutcracker season.
