Remembering Tony Hart

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Tony Phillip Hart died unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026. He was 61.

A native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, he was the son of the late Jimmy Warren Hart and Shirley Hearn Hart. Tony loved logging and was devoted to this trade for many years. He was a strong, confident man and had a good sense of humor. He was loving and caring and would give the shirt off of his back for anyone in need. He loved his family who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, John Phillip Hart; grandsons, Jeremiah Couey and Jonathan Hart; and his brothers, Michael Hart, Bo Hart, and Raymond Hart.

He is survived by his daughter, Samantha H. Couey (Joshua); sons, Jimmy Hart and Christopher Hart; grandchildren, Jaden Hart, Kalea Ramsey, Layla Couey, Jace Hart, Sienna Hart, Kason Hart, Kenner Hart, Kaisley Hart, and J.J. Hart; sister, Brenda Hart; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, in The Chapel of Monsour & Patin Funeral Directors, 1830 Cherry St., Vicksburg. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the hour of the service.
