Winnie Merle Ross Kemp Mann
VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — Winnie Merle Ross Kemp Mann, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, graced the world with her presence from August 5, 1930, until her passing on January 24, 2026. She departed peacefully at the age of 95 at her home in Vicksburg, Mississippi, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
She lived her life devoted to Christ, accepting Jesus as her Savior and reflecting His love through her kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit. Her faith guided her daily, and she shared God’s love through the way she treated others. We rejoice knowing she is now at peace in her eternal home with her Lord. She was an amazing sister, mother, and grandmother.
Winnie was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Monell Ross, her devoted husband Shelby J. Mann Jr., and her cherished children, Glenda Price (Darrell), Edward Kemp (Kathy), and Kaye Weeks (D.J.), and brother, Charlie Ross.Winnie is survived by her loving sister, Gene Kelly, along with her remaining children: Brenda Pettway (Jimmy), Stan Kemp (Susan), and Renee Harmon (Rusty). She was also the proud grandmother to an extensive family, including her grandchildren Wendy Moore, Jimmy Bruce, Mike Bruce, Pam Bruce, Stacey Loveless, Tracey McGuire, Dawn Kemp, Shane Kemp, Cassidy Parker, Cameron Kemp, Sonia Rectenwald, Terra Foster, Sheila Ashley, Sohn Sibley, Bill Sibley, and Greg Sanders. She was also blessed with 34 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Her warm-hearted nature and ability to love deeply touched many lives. She was known for her generous spirit and her unwavering support for her family and friends. She formed deep connections with those around her, and she will be missed by many.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate her life on February 5, 2026, at Solid Rock Church 4945 US-61, Vicksburg, Ms. 39183. Visitation will be 10 am- 11 am with services 11 am-12pm. Graveside services to follow at the family cemetery on Bud Martin Rd.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Sibley, Brayden Jenkins, Branden Bruce, Timothy Bruce, Jacob Bruce, and Ethan Sanders.
Though she may have left this world, her love and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she cherished. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember the laughter, the love, and the lessons she imparted, forever grateful for the time we shared with such an extraordinary woman. We love you, Winnie (Granny), and we will carry your memory with us always.
