Vicksburg native Ja’Merica Dixon has been selected to speak at the Mississippi Pharmacists Association’s 155th Annual Convention and Trade Show, which will be held June 5-6 in Oxford.

Dixon will present “New Kids on the Block: 2025-2026 FDA Approved Drug Approvals,” a session focused on recently approved medications and how the new therapies could impact patient care and pharmacy practices. The convention will also include an APhA Immunization Class on June 4.

Dr. Dixon is currently a PGY1 Community Pharmacy Resident with the Mississippi State Department of Health Pharmacy in Jackson.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Jackson State University before receiving her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from William Carey University.

Along with completing her residency, Dixon also works part-time with CVS Pharmacy and Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg, where she has gained experience in both community and hospital pharmacy settings.

Her professional interests include public health, health equity and patient advocacy. Dixon is especially passionate about improving access to health care, patient education and outcomes in underserved communities.
