Ricky Dewayne Johnson, Jr. lived with a vibrant spirit and unwavering loyalty, impacting every relationship he cherished. His presence was bold and unforgettable, characterized by warmth that drew others close. As a devoted son, father, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend, Ricky’s love for his family and community was profound.

As a lifelong member of Clover Valley M.B. Church, Ricky grounded his life in faith, love, and service. He was preceded in death by Oliver “Teedy” Walker, Danny Ray Cole, Sr., Hattie Mae Cole, Carcenia Sanders, uncles James Johnson, Jonathan Cole, Quentin Cole, Hattie Mae Fitzgerald Cole, and Daisy Mae & Jordan Smith.

His memory is lovingly cherished by his parents, Darryl and Phebe Sanders, and Ricky Johnson, Sr.; grandparents, Mary Johnson and Patricia Cole; and his children, Ricky Johnson III, Amya Johnson, Tovaris Johnson, and Quentin Johnson.

His siblings—Robert Cole, Rickita Johnson, Kadeidra Johnson, Rickendrick Johnson, Rikiyah Johnson, Leo Colenburg, Dalesia Sanders, and Dante Sanders—also carry forward his legacy. Ricky valued deep connections with his special friend Gitoria S. McBride, best friends Sherrod McDonald and Darryl Goodman, special brother George Baker, and devoted godmother Shirley Hedrick. Ricky is fondly remembered by the mothers of his children, Meah Sanders and Jasmine Alexander.

Ricky’s life was a testament to connection and community, leaving an enduring impact on all who knew him. His humor, loyalty, and love will be deeply missed, yet his memory remains vibrant in the hearts of his extensive family and friends. His memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
