WCHS junior on a mission to help students

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central High School junior Aden Rials is on a mission once again to help her fellow students by fundraising to provide students with hygiene essentials.

“As we get ready for a new school year, I want to help students who may not have access to everyday hygiene essentials. I’m raising money to put together hygiene bags for students at my school,” said Rials.

The funds will be used to purchase items like deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, feminine hygiene products, soap, and other basic necessities.

“No student should have to worry about not having the essentials they need to feel confident at school,” explained the teen.

All donations are being accepted.

“If you’d like to help, any donation big or small will make a difference. If you’d rather donate items instead of money, I’d be incredibly grateful for that too,” Rials said.

Rials said she has two goal levels she hopes to reach, $250 will afford 25 bags and $500 will fund 50 bags to be donated to other students.

“If you’re a parent in need, please don’t be afraid to reach out. Whether you need food, clothing, household essentials, hygiene products, or other basic necessities, my messages are always open. Everything will remain completely anonymous, and there is absolutely no judgment. We all need a helping hand sometimes, and no one should feel embarrassed for asking. If I can help, I will. If I can’t, I’ll do my best to connect you with someone who can. Please message me anytime. You’re not alone,” said Rials in a social media post.

In March of this year, Rials also lead the effort to collect prom dresses so students in need could still have a way to feel beautiful and attend the school’s prom.
