Body found on Washington Street

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —

The Vicksburg Police Department is investigating after a man’s body was found early Wednesday morning in the 900 block of Washington Street.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, after a passerby reported finding an unresponsive white male lying on the walkway near a building in the 900 block of Washington Street.

When officers arrived, they located the man and confirmed that he was deceased.

The Warren County Coroner responded to the scene and took custody of the body.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing as investigators work to determine the cause and manner of death. No additional information was immediately available.
