VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Marilyn Sue Laird was born on January 1, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois. She made Vicksburg, Miss., her home for most of her life, building a life centered on love, family, and the people who meant the most to her.
Laird was a devoted homemaker and mother whose greatest joy was caring for her family. Her beautiful legacy lives on through her three daughters, Christina Summerlin (Steve), Michelle Bianco (Tommy), and Sienica “Nikki” Devine, as well as her 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She found joy in the everyday moments she shared with her family. She enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren how to draw, paint, knit, and garden.
She was a friend to all who knew her, and her kindness and devotion will continue to live through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and everyone whose life she touched.
Her absence will be deeply felt, but the memories she made and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service at Glenwood Funeral Home with a memorial service in the chapel at 12 noon. with Rev. Roger Cresswell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
