Jared Bell named new St. Aloysius head tennis coach
Jared Bell has been appointed as the new head tennis coach at St. Aloysius in Vicksburg. With a strong tennis background and experience in athletics, Bell aims to continue the program’s legacy of success.
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —
Jared Bell has been named the new head tennis coach at St. Aloysius, taking over a program that has enjoyed plenty of success over the years.
For Bell, the opportunity fulfills a goal that began with his own introduction to the sport more than two decades ago.
“I feel good about this because I’ve been playing tennis since I was five years old and it’s been a dream of mine to take over a program,” Bell said.
Bell brings an extensive tennis background to the Flashes. During his playing career at Vicksburg High School, he won three district championships and finished as the state runner-up in singles.
Bell graduated from VHS in 2016, where he competed in tennis, football and soccer. He continued his tennis career at the collegiate level after signing a scholarship with Holmes Community College. Bell later went on to play at Jackson State University.
Now, Bell will have an opportunity to use those experiences to lead a St. Aloysius program with an established tradition of success.
“We’re going to keep this train rolling, and they’ll have to earn it still and earn their keep on this team,” Bell said.
Bell is already familiar with St. Aloysius athletics, as he also serves as an assistant football coach for the Flashes.
