WCJHS seventh grade defeats Vicksburg 14-0
Warren Central Junior High School’s seventh-grade football team secured a 14-0 victory over Vicksburg Junior High at Warren Central High School. The Vikings showcased strong defense and key offensive plays to maintain the shutout.

Warren Central Junior High School’s seventh-grade football team defeated Vicksburg Junior High 14-0 on Monday at Warren Central High School.
Coaches were allowed on the field to help guide the young players throughout the game.
Defense controlled the first quarter as neither the Vikings nor Gators were able to get on the scoreboard.
Warren Central broke through in the second quarter when Colin Carvey raced for a 28-yard touchdown to give the Vikings a 6-0 lead. Shandell Lockridge Jr. followed with a successful 2-point conversion to extend the lead to 8-0.
The Vikings also came up with several big defensive plays. Landon Johnson recovered a fumble, while Shawnderrick Qualls grabbed an interception to help keep the Gators off the scoreboard.
Just before halftime, Lockridge connected with Elton Wilson on a 40-yard touchdown pass, giving Warren Central a 14-0 advantage.
Vicksburg found more success moving the football in the second half as Isaiah Chambers and Malik Dulaney each picked up multiple first downs, but the Vikings’ defense kept the Gators out of the end zone to preserve the shutout.
Warren Central held on for the 14-0 victory.
The WCJHS seventh-grade team will host Clinton next Monday.
