Rey’Nhila Gray received a moment she will never forget Friday night when she was crowned Warren Central High School’s 2026 homecoming queen.

Gray was officially announced as homecoming queen just before the Vikings took the field for their football game. Standing before the crowd, Gray was overcome with excitement and surprise as she heard her name called.

“I feel amazing and I just thank God for this experience to be Homecoming Queen,” Gray said.

Gray admitted that she nearly shed tears when her name was announced. The honor now gives her an opportunity to represent Warren Central with pride throughout her senior year. She was crowned by Miss WCHS Lilli Feibelman.

At WCHS, Gray stays involved in several organizations, including serving as the cheer manager and participating in the Chick-fil-A Leadership Club, Key Club and Red Chord.

Gray was selected as homecoming queen through votes cast by the senior football players, and she expressed her appreciation to those who helped make her special moment possible.

“I thank all the football players who voted for me,” she said.

Beyond high school, Gray has big dreams for her future. She plans to attend either Louisiana State University or the University of Alabama as she pursues her goal of becoming an optometrist.

Gray is the daughter of Renard Gray and Kim Ware.
