Alex Monsour files to seek re-election as the Ward 2 Alderman

Vicksburg, Miss.-Alex Monsour has officially filed for re-election as Vicksburg’s Ward 2 Alderman. Monsour filled out paperwork on Tuesday as he is currently seeking a third term.

In 2017, Monsour was elected for his first term after defeating incumbent Willis Thompson. Four years later in 2021, Monsour won re-election after defeating Vickie Bailey with 1,172 votes to 1016.

Since his time in office, Monsour has worked alongside Mayor George Flaggs Jr., Ward 1 Alderman T.J. Mayfield, and the late Northward Alderman Michael Mayfield Sr.

Bio:

Alderman Monsour was re-elected to a second term to the Ward 2 Alderman position on June 8, 2021. Alex represented District 54 in the Mississippi Legislature; a district that includes portions of Warren County, including part of Vicksburg, Yazoo and Issaquena counties.

Alderman Monsour was born May 5, 1962 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He is of the Catholic faith. He is the proud parent of two children, Kennedy and Zane.
