All-American Trey Hall signs to Ole Miss
Vicksburg, Miss.-Vicksburg native Trey Hall has officially signed a football scholarship to the University of Mississippi. Hall made everything official on Saturday when held a ceremony at his old high school.
After previously committing to Western Kentucky University, Hall has flipped the script and will be taking his talents down to Oxford, Mississippi to play for Head Coach Lane Kiffin
“I chose Ole Miss because it’s always been my dream school and I figured why not stay in Mississippi and be close to home,” Hall said. “There’s no reason for me to leave my home state when my family is here and some great football is played here.”
Hall spent the last two seasons playing at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College where he became a star running back instantly. As a freshman, Hall played in all 10 games where he racked up 883 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while finishing third in the NJCAA in rushing average (7.2 yards per carry).
Due to his outstanding freshman year in 2023, Hall was named to the All-MACCC South Second Team.
Although Hall’s freshman year was a success, he wasn’t satisfied and had more goals to complete so he made the decision to return for another year at MGCCC where he aimed for higher numbers.
“I had a goal which was to rush for over 1,000 yards and to be named an All-American so I had to return to prove to myself that I can do it,” Trey said.
It wouldn’t take long for him to show out once more as he picked up 1,098 yards in 10 games as a sophomore along with 13 rushing touchdowns.
Hall tied the Bulldogs’ single-season record with 7.4 yards per carry and netted his goal of becoming an All-American. Overall, his sophomore year consisted of him being the MACCC South Division Player of the Year, All-NJCAA Region 2 selectee, and an All-American.
“I expected this going into last summer because I made promises to myself and I did what it took to be the best so now I’m here,” Trey said. “I plan to have a huge impact on the program at Ole Miss and I know I’ll do great with my family standing beside me.”
Hall chose Ole Miss over offers from WKU, Alcorn, Arkansas State, Jacksonville State, Louisiana Tech, Tulsa, and East Carolina.
Hall was VDN’s 2022 Offensive Player of the Year and played for Josh Morgan at Warren Central High School.
