VICKSBURG, Miss. – Koury DeMichael Lawrence, one of four suspects arrested for the 2023 murder of 13-year-old Carleone Woodland, had his bond reduced in court on Friday morning.
Judge James Chaney reduced Lawrence’s bond to $100,000, which was previously set at $500,000. His lawyer, Daniel Edney, requested the bond to be lowered to $50,000, which Judge Cheney denied.
Lawrence has been housed in the Warren County Jail since January of 2023 and has yet to be indicted. The Prosecutor’s Office mentioned in court that they have not received the case file from the Vicksburg Police Department, which will make it difficult to take the case to a Grand Jury.
