VICKSBURG, MS – Earlier today an electronic message to city hall for pricing on the Ardis Williams Auditorium was met with a request for the person requesting the information fill out an Open Records Request.

The city’s response.

Alderman Monsour was contacted regarding this seeming roadblock of information via Open Records Request, but had not responded at the time of this writing.

The Vicksburg Daily News also reached out to Mayor Flaggs who assured us VDN would receive a copy of the current pricing.

The request for information on pricing was in relation to the recent announcement made by Mayor Flaggs who plans to increase the rates at both the City Pavilion and the Ardis Williams Auditorium.

In the mayor’s press release, announced on Tuesday, August 20, current pricing was not mentioned. Thus it is unclear as to how large of an increase the mayor is proposing.

The Vicksburg Daily News has been made aware that the current planned increase for the City Pavilion, currently a $100 per day rental, will be an increase of 100% to $200 per day.
