Cordless Corner finalists compete for top prize Wednesday night at Burgers Blues BBQ
Cordless Corner’s five week acoustic competition will come to a close on Wednesday, June 5 at 7:00 pm at Burgers Blues BBQ in Brandon with the final three contestants vying for the top prize. The winner will receive a studio package from Eternal Beyond Studio, a headlining opportunity, Studio 3 interview, and a $500 cash prize.
It began with twelve Musicians/Groups from across the state and genres performing short sets of original or covers in front of a panel of judges, with tiebreakers decided by crowd participation.
In the third week of the competition it came down to a tie breaker between Brian Ballou, the son of WLBT’s Howard Ballou, and Hunter Chappell with Hunter ultimately taking the slot.
After four weeks, and many tough cuts, the twelve whittled down to the final three of the Cordless Corner competition: CookieWu, Hunter Chappell, and the Stephen Brothers.
The judges for this year’s competition are: 2 time Josie Music Award winner Chad Wesley, radio hosts Chris Bender and Clay Edwards, WLBT executive Brandon Walker, and Mississippi Songwriter of the Year, Naomi Taylor.
