Hattiesburg, Ms –Former Port Gibson High School football star Damion Miller announced that he will be entering the transfer portal. Miller made the announcement on Wednesday over social media.

“First and foremost. I want to thank my coaches, teammates, and the entire Southern Miss community for the support and opportunities I’ve been given,” the post read. “After much thought and consideration, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal to explore new opportunities for both my academic and athletic future. This has been a difficult decision, but I believe it’s the best step for me as I continue to grow as both a student and an athlete. I’m excited for what the future holds and grateful for everything I’ve learned and experienced during my time here.”

Miller is currently in his freshman year at USM after signing with the Golden Eagles back in December 2023.

In high school, Miller was a first-team Class 3A all-state selectee. He caught 26 passes for 511 yards and eight touchdowns while adding 11 tackles, with two interceptions and one pass breakup. Miller also played in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game, in which he registered a tackle, and the Bernard Blackwell Football Classic Game.
