Ellen Bishop

Ellen Bishop passed away on June 4, 2024, at the age of 64. Ellen was a kind and loving soul, who cherished her family deeply. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met, and her memory will forever remain in our hearts.

Ellen, also known as Mamaw found immense joy in spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren play sports, and going shopping with them. She treasured her annual trips to the beach with her husband and their beloved dog, Bobo. Christmas was her favorite holiday, a time she truly enjoyed seeing everyone together, opening gifts, and cooking for her family. Her home was always filled with laughter and love during the holidays.

Ellen was a hardworking and vibrant individual, always eager to learn about the people around her. She had a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor, making everyone feel like part of her family. Her laughter and jokes were infectious, creating lasting bonds with all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Bishop Sr.; her two sons, Dale Stewart and Wayne Bishop Jr.; her grandchildren, Landan Stewart, Logan Stewart, Madi Stewart, and Sydney Stewart; and her siblings, James Crutchfield, Thomas Crutchfield, and Brenda Porter, all of Vicksburg, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents,  Phillip and Hazel Crutchfield. 

Visitation will be held at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Ave.  Saturday,  June 8th from 12:00-2:00 PM with services to follow. 

Ellen Bishop’s life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and kindness. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
