John Bradford (Brad) Davidson 1967-2026

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — John Bradford (Brad) Davidson closed his eyes in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 30th 2026. When he opened them again in the next moment, he was staring at the precious face of his beloved Savior. Brad’s sudden departure to Glory left an immediate, shattering silence in the lives of those that love him, and stands as a stark reminder of how profoundly he will be missed here on earth.

While Brad’s heart belonged first to his Lord and Savior, his greatest earthly treasure was his family. He adored his wife, Christy, daughters Kelsey (Tyler) and Bradi (Dalton), and granddaughter Emma Kate. Brad lived out his faith daily in how fiercely he loved, honored, and led his family in Christ. He will forever be their anchor in faith and a testament to the power of Christ’s love within a home.

Brad was born December 4th, 1967 in Vicksburg, MS to parents John Allen Davidson & Elizabeth Anne Gray. He attended Warren Central High School and finished out his education at Hinds Community College in electrical school where he pursued a career is electrical, mechanical, and fabrication. Ever since he was a child, Brad’s mind was filled with the mechanical workings of everything he could get his hands on. This passion eventually led him to opening his own business (Electro Mechanical Solutions) with his beloved wife Christy. His mechanical skills, analytical talents, and strong faith never failed him and led him to be the best teacher and spiritual mentor that we knew.

Beyond his career, Brad found joy in the hobbies that filled his life. Racing was one of his greatest passions, and nothing made him happier than sharing that passion with his beautiful wife, Christy. In their downtime, the two could often be found on the couch together watching Street Outlaws or cruising the streets in Christy’s 69’ Camaro. Brad loved building, restoring, and tinkering with just about anything. If something was broken, he could fix it. If someone needed something built, he was always willing to help. His talents were only matched by his generous heart, and he never hesitated to use his gifts to serve others.

There is no greater way to honor Brad’s memory than to share in the eternal hope that is Jesus Christ. His family now gently invites you to surrender your heart to Jesus, as would be Brad’s dearest wish for us all. Brad was a man of generosity and had a gift of blessing and helping others in their time of needs. He lived his life to the fullest with a mission to spread God’s word in hopes of leading as many people to Christ as he could. And he did just that. He was a true servant of God.

Brad is most immediately survived by his beloved wife, Christy Davidson (m.1988), precious daughters, Kelsey Matherne (Tyler Matherne) and Bradi Creel (Dalton Creel), and cherished granddaughter, Emma Kate Matherne. His adoring mother, Anne Gray, sister, Yolanda Segree, and innumerable close friends also remain to mourn his passing.

Brad is preceded in death by his father, John Allen Davidson, his grandmothers, Lois Davidson and Eunice Crawford, his grandfathers, JD Davidson and William Crawford, his father-in-law, Douglas E. Brown , and his mother-in-law, Mary E. Brown.

Active Pallbearers will be Dalton Creel, Tyler Matherne, Lee Kennedy, Chandler Davidson, Andy Crawford, Tucker DuBois, Christopher DuBois, and Ryan DuBois.
Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Matherne, Alan Cheney, Jason Cheney, Braxton DuBois, Gerald Myers, Terry Jackson, Paul Kimball, Ed Fletcher, Rex Robertson, the EMS employees. James Davidson, Clyde McGehee, and Chip Tweedle.

A visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 4th, at 10 a.m. with service to follow at 11 a.m.

We welcome all friends and family for a gathering and celebration of Brad’s life at the Elks lodge on 61 south following the service.
