VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Emily Muirhead, a standout Warren Central High School softball player, has received her first athletic scholarship offer. Last week, the program announced that Muirhead was officially offered a chance to continue her career at Holmes Community College.

Muirhead, a junior pitcher and right fielder for the Lady Vikes, has become one of the team’s most reliable contributors under Head Coach Brian Ellis. Warren Central finished second in its district last season as Muirhead settled into her role after transferring from Porter’s Chapel Academy, where she served as the starting pitcher. Her development since arriving at WC has drawn attention from college programs, leading to her first offer.

Muirhead’s next official season with the Lady Vikes begins in February 2026, and expectations are high as she continues to progress in the circle and at the plate. Although she now holds an offer from Holmes, Muirhead has not committed and remains fully open in her recruitment as additional interest continues to grow.
