VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Josh Morgan, of Warren Central High School, has been named the 6A Head Football Coach of the Year. The honor was officially announced Sunday night, just two days after Morgan guided the Vikings to a state championship, capping one of the program’s most memorable seasons in decades.

Under Morgan’s direction, Warren Central closed the year on a nine-game winning streak and secured its first state title in 31 years. The Vikings’ 2025 campaign included a district championship, a North State championship and ultimately a 56-34 win over Hattiesburg High School in the state championship game at Davis-Wade Stadium.

Morgan, now in his 16th year leading the program, has continued to elevate Warren Central into a consistent contender. His career head-coaching record stands at 123-72, reflecting his long-term success and impact on the program.
