ATLANTA, Ga. (VDN) Janiah Caples, a Vicksburg native, delivered her strongest outing of the season on Saturday as she scored 18 points to help Clark Atlanta University defeat Spring Hill 81–47. Caples, in her first year with the program, posted a well-rounded stat line that included eight rebounds and four assists, marking her most complete performance since joining the Panthers.

Caples has quickly become an impact player for CAU, building on the experience she gained at the junior college level. Before arriving at Clark Atlanta, she spent the 2024–25 season at Mississippi Delta Community College, where she averaged 11.4 points per game and finished the year with 376 total points. She began her collegiate career at Pearl River Community College, playing there during her freshman season.

A 2023 graduate of Vicksburg High School, Caples starred under Head Coach Troy Stewart and established herself as one of the area’s top talents. Now making her mark in Atlanta, she continues to show steady growth as CAU prepares to face Central State University on Thursday.
