Flashettes Earn Bid to Nationals, Multiple Awards at UDA Camp

STARKVILLE, Miss.(VDN) — The St. Aloysius Flashettes Dance Team earned a bid to Nationals and received a Superior Trophy after a standout performance at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) Camp held at Mississippi State University.

The team competed from Saturday through Tuesday, collecting numerous accolades throughout the event. During the weekend’s home routine evaluation, the Flashettes received 14 gold ribbons, a spirit stick, and the coveted Super Spirit Stick—an award that recognizes outstanding spirit and team energy.

On the final day of camp, eight team members were named UDA All-Americans: Hayden Bell, Elizabeth Bednar, Olivia Larsen, Farrell Roberson, Marley Gibellino, Caroline Ponder, Raigen Smith, and Megan Theriot. Senior Hayden Bell was also honored with the prestigious “Pin It Forward” Award, which is given to dancers who exemplify leadership, kindness, and dedication.

The Flashettes are led by Head Coach Chesley Lambiotte and recently secured their 10th consecutive state championship. In February, the team also placed fourth nationally at the UDA Nationals, continuing their tradition of excellence in both state and national competition.

The 2024–2025 Flashettes team includes 11 dancers. Team captains—all seniors—are Farrell Roberson, Olivia Larsen, Hayden Bell and Elizabeth Bednar. Juniors on the team are Marley Gibellino, Raigen Smith, Megan Theriot and Caroline Ponder. Sophomore Morgan Tzotzolas and freshmen Luella Lambiotte and Elaina Wilbanks round out the roster.

With their strong start to the season and a bid to Nationals already secured, the Flashettes are poised for another year of competitive success.
