Gulf Coast man arrested on drug trafficking charges
A 40-year-old Pass Christian man was arrested Thursday on drug trafficking charges.
According to Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson, deputies arrested Mario Christopher Lawton on charges of intent to distribute, methamphetamine, and marijuana.
Authorities say that on Wednesday around 4:30 p.m., the Harrison County Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at Lawton’s residence on Cane Street when they found around 2 pounds of methamphetamines and felony quantities of marijuana.
Investigators also recovered multiple firearms and money.
Lawton was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute marijuana. Lawton was booked into the Harrison County Jail and held in lieu of a $340,000 bond issued by a Harrison County Justice Court Judge.
