Inmate Dies in Stabbing at Madison Correctional Center
MADISON PARISH, La. — An inmate has died following a stabbing incident in the early morning hours of Monday, Dec. 23, at the Madison Correctional Center in Tallulah. The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Teldric Boyd.
According to the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old inmate Austin Dean allegedly stabbed Boyd in the neck with a shank around 3:25 a.m., correctional officers responded immediately, providing first aid before Boyd was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5 a.m.
Authorities said the stabbing stemmed from a disagreement between Dean and Boyd the night before. Detectives confirmed that Dean admitted to the stabbing and has been booked on a charge of second-degree murder.
