Khyla Moss-Grant Named Co-Valedictorian at Vicksburg High School

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN)—Khyla Moss-Grant has been named the Co-Valedictorian of the Vicksburg High School Class of 2025. She officially graduated alongside her classmates during a ceremony held last Friday at the Vicksburg Convention Center.
“It’s truly an honor and a privilege to be named valedictorian,” Grant said. “When Dr. Allen called to tell me the news, I was shocked—and as soon as I hung up the phone, I screamed with excitement.”
Academic success is nothing new for Khyla, who has consistently made the honor roll since childhood. Throughout high school, she actively participated in a variety of extracurricular activities, including the Technology Student Association, Yearbook Club, the Beauty & the Beast musical production, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the National Society for High School Scholars.
Graduating with an impressive GPA of 4.435, Khyla also earned nearly 15 college credits before receiving her high school diploma. She credits her parents, Elka and Lewis Grant, with keeping her motivated throughout her academic journey.
“They always made sure I stayed focused and didn’t get distracted,” she said.
Before officially becoming an alumna, Khyla delivered her valedictorian speech to a packed audience of classmates, family, and friends.
“I couldn’t have achieved this without God,” she said. “I give all the glory to Him. He guided me, and He used my pastors, Leonard and Paula Calcote of Pentecostal Explosion Ministries, to support and instruct me during my four years of high school.”
Khyla will attend Delta State University in the fall, where she plans to major in Aviation with the goal of becoming an Aerospace Engineer.
