Lady Vikes dominate Yazoo City, Riverside in shutout sweep
VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — The Warren Central High School softball team opened play with two dominant performances, blanking Yazoo City 19-0 and Riverside 20-0.
Game 1 – Warren Central 19, Yazoo City 0
Warren Central’s bats were hot from the start, and the Lady Vikes didn’t allow a run or a hit.
Pitchers Maddy Pant and Raegan Dean combined on the no-hitter, recording five strikeouts apiece.
The Lady Vikes finished with 13 hits. Malayna Smith blasted a three-run home run and totaled two hits with four RBIs. KeKe McKay and Anzley Keen each went 2 for 2 at the plate. Keen delivered a triple and a double, while McKay tripled and drove in two runs.
KK Williamson also went 2 for 2 and added one RBI. Emily Muirhead laced a two-run triple, and MK Ferguson recorded a triple and two RBIs. Katie Warnock (1 RBI) and Marie Bourne each had one hit.

Game 2 – Warren Central 20, Riverside 0
The Lady Vikes stayed in control in the second game, pounding out a 20-0 win. Warren Central collected 10 hits while allowing just two.
In the circle, Muirhead struck out three batters and Williamson added one strikeout.
Bourne went 2 for 2 with two RBIs. Ferguson (triple) and Williamson each had one hit and two RBIs. Muirhead tallied one hit and three RBIs, while Laney Bennett, Joli Blackard, Addison Smith (1 RBI), Keen and Pant (1 RBI) each recorded one hit. McKay drove in two runs.
