VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — Porter’s Chapel Academy’s boys’ soccer team picked up its first win of the season Monday night, defeating Adams County Christian School 3-1. The victory also marked the first career win for head coach Cody Barfield.

Goalkeeper John Austin White anchored the defense with 10 saves to help secure the Eagles’ win.

Porter’s Chapel opened the scoring when Carson Hays found the net with an assist from Jackson Blackmon. Blackmon later added a goal of his own in the second half, scoring off an assist from Lakelan Pecanty.

Cade Cantin sealed the win late in the match, converting a penalty kick to give Porter’s Chapel a 3-1 advantage.

The Eagles controlled play down the stretch to preserve the lead and close out the season-ending victory.
