Mayfield to be honored as part of Mississippi Business Journal Top 40 under 40

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Mississippi Business Journal (MBJ) will recognize 40 young leaders from across the state during its annual Top 40 Under 40 luncheon, including Ward 1 Alderman, T.J. Mayfield. The event will be held June 25 at the Old Capitol Inn in Jackson from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Alderman T.J. Mayfield will be the only honoree from the River City to be honored this year. Mississippi Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann will deliver the keynote address.
The Top 40 Under 40 program honors professionals under the age of 40 who are making significant contributions to their industries and communities.
“This annual event recognizes emerging leaders from across Mississippi who are under the age of 40 and are already making a significant contribution in their communities and industries,” said J. Scott Coopwood, publisher and owner of the Mississippi Business Journal. “The 2025 honorees are from diverse fields, including business, community involvement, and more.”
A panel of business and community leaders selected this year’s class from nominations submitted through the journal’s print edition and social media channels.
“The goal of the Top 40 Under 40 salute is to not only pay tribute to these young leaders from across the state, but to inspire the next generation of leaders and highlight the contributions of emerging professionals,” Coopwood said.
