EMS Safety Fair flier 2025

JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) Office of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Acute Care Systems invites the public, children especially, to our annual EMS Safety Fair on Thursday, February 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mississippi Trade Mart in Jackson.

The fair, designed to teach children about emergency services in a fun environment, will showcase EMS equipment, educational booths, vendors, and live safety demonstrations.

“The EMS Safety Fair educates the community on emergency preparedness, injury prevention, and lifesaving techniques,” said Director Teresa Windham. “It brings together emergency medical services, first responders, healthcare professionals, and local organizations to provide hands-on demonstrations and safety resources. The goal is to empower individuals and families with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively in emergencies, ultimately improving public safety and reducing preventable injuries.”

More than 22 vendors will set up booths in anticipation of the roughly 2,000 students expected from throughout the state.

Mississippi’s EMS system not only provides the highest standards of pre-hospital care for the citizens and visitors of Mississippi but ensures that patients are delivered to the right hospital at the right time.

Groups of 30 or more are asked to RSVP at ems.support@msdh.ms.gov or call (601) 933-7642.

The Mississippi Trade Mart is located at 1200 Mississippi Street in Jackson.
