VICKSBURG, Miss.Oak Hall, in partnership with HannMade Cakes, is offering a special after hours event “Let Us Eat Cake” beginning this evening that offers a tour of the 1910 Mission Revival style mansion, champagne, and cake.

“First, we’re going to kick off with the champagne toast and a tour of Oak Hall, and then guests will be able to dine and taste a variety of homemade desserts,” said Elizabeth Nelson. “We even have a King Cake from Amy Fadden.”

Hannah Bonelli, owner of HannMade Cakes will be offering three of her most popular cakes for visitors to try: a Triple Chocolate Cake with a raspberry filling; classic Wedding Cake with a vanilla buttercream frosting; and Italian Creme cake with a pecan and coconut buttercream frosting.

Bonelli, who was recently acknowledged as the Best of the Best in the Wedding Cakes category, will also be on hand to offer a cake decorating tutorial.

While this event is in part inspired by this weekend’s return of the Beautiful Table Settings Bash, Nelson said that this was also a great opportunity to help support each other’s business.

“Some of the feedback that we got from the people that attended last year was they wanted to get in and see these houses, the ones that they didn’t stay at. So they encouraged us to be open after hours and do tours and activities so that people can see all the different mansions while they’re here and experience southern hospitality,” said Nelson. “This event is really about promoting Hannah and Amy’s businesses. We’re all just wanting to support each other.”

Let us Eat Cake at Oak Hall will be held on Friday, January 31, and Saturday February 1, beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased here, with a limit of 75 attendees per night. Locals are encouraged to attend.

Oak Hall is open for tours seven days a week, with tours beginning at 10:30 a.m. each day. Tickets for the tour are $15 each. For more information, or to schedule a tour visit their website here.
