A Cultural Tasting Fiesta: 33rd Annual International Awareness & Involvement Project set for March 1

VICKSBURG, Miss. – The Vicksburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is excited to announce the 33rd Annual International Awareness and Involvement Project, set to take place on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the Ardis T. Williams, Sr. City Auditorium. This year’s event, themed A Cultural Tasting Fiesta, will celebrate the rich cultures of Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa.
Guests can expect an afternoon filled with vibrant music, lively dancing, a historical exploration of Cape Town, and exciting food competitions. These festivities will offer attendees the opportunity to immerse themselves in South African culture, all while enjoying a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
The event’s primary aim is to increase cultural awareness and understanding within the local Vicksburg-Warren County community, as well as on the international stage. Proceeds from this project will benefit a variety of causes supported by the Vicksburg Alumnae Chapter, including local, national, and international initiatives such as Habitat for Humanity, women’s and children’s shelters, scholarships, and mentorship programs.
Tickets for the event are $10, with children ages 5 and under admitted for free. Tickets for the “A Cultural Tasting Fiesta” can be purchased online via Eventbrite or through members of the Vicksburg Alumnae Chapter.
