VICKSBURG, Miss. – Mayor George Flaggs Jr. and the Vicksburg 200 Committee invite the public to attend the Bicentennial Mayoral Proclamation and Dedication on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. at Washington Street Park.

The event will feature the Mayor’s Proclamation, a reading of the city charter, and reflections on Vicksburg’s past, present, and future.

“Vicksburg’s rich history and bright future are worth celebrating, and this kickoff event is just the beginning of a year filled with special moments honoring our city’s legacy,” said Mayor Flaggs.

A reception will follow at Catfish Row. In the case of inclement weather, the celebration will be moved to the Ardis T. Williams City Auditorium.

This event is free and open to the public.
