One arrested after foot chase in Vicksburg

Around 5:30 p.m., an individual was arrested on Halls Ferry after fleeing from police.

An unconfirmed report said the individual was in a vehicle that almost hit a marked patrol car. The officer in that patrol car, according to this account, then turned around and attempted to stop the individual. That person failed to yield to lights and a siren from the marked unit. At some point the person abandoned their vehicle, a white Mitsubishi pickup, on Franklin near Military Street and took off on foot. They ran west down Military, across Halls Ferry and then ran behind a building in the 2500 block of Halls Ferry.

Several marked and unmarked units responded to the scene and the individual was captured and taken into custody without further incident.
