One in custody after stealing two trucks in Bovina
One person is in custody after stealing two pickup trucks from a residence in Bovina.
At around 10 a.m. this morning a homeowner in the Bovina area observed one of his trucks, a maroon F250, drive off of his property. After reporting the vehicles stolen he went to investigate where the vehicle was parked and noticed several items out of place in his garage/shed. He also noticed his white F150 was missing.
According to what the homeowner was able to piece together, the individual must have spent the night in his shed and eaten some of the food items out there. Several beers were also emptied. “The dogs were barking but deer pass through there all the time and it sounded like they were barking at deer,” said the homeowner. A short time after realizing someone had spent the night in his shed he spotted his F150 upside down in a ditch behind the shed area.
A family member of the victim posted the stolen vehicle with distinctive markings on social media and asked for help from the public. Soon thereafter the vehicle was spotted in the Blakely subdivision where Sheriff’s Deputies including Johnny Beauchamp and Investigator Stacy Rollison along with Sheriff Martin Pace were able to recover the vehicle and take one person into custody without incident.
The victim was able to retrieve their truck and drove it away from the scene of the recovery.
The names of the individuals involved are being withheld due to extenuating circumstances. The Vicksburg Daily News will update this story with more detailed information if it is released.
