Person of Interest Identified in Yesterday’s Shooting Near 3rd North and Grove
VICKSBURG, Miss. – The Vicksburg Police Department has issued a BOLO for a Person of Interest in yesterday’s shooting that left one person wounded.
According to the Vicksburg Police Department, a BOLO has been issued for twenty-three-year-old Darion Turner. Turner is a person of interest and is wanted for aggravated assault relating to the shooting incident on Wednesday, November 27 in the vicinity of 3rd North and Grove, that left one person wounded. He is considered armed and dangerous.
According to Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones, the unidentified victim was taken to a hospital in a personal vehicle and his condition is listed as stable.
Also at large is twenty-one-year-old Derrius Darden. Darden is named as a suspect in the shooting incident at the Smoke Break located at the intersection of Clay and Cherry St. on Friday, November 8, 2024. He is wanted for aggravated assault and is considered armed and dangerous.
In a statement made to the Vicksburg Daily News, Chief Jones urged the two to come forward and turn themselves in.
“Despite multiple opportunities to turn themselves in, they remain at large. We are urging these individuals to come forward immediately. This holiday season should be a time of peace, not evasion of justice,” said Chief Jones. “We remain committed to the safety of our community and will continue our efforts until these individuals are in custody.
