One Injured in Shooting Near 3rd North and Grove Street

VICKSBURG, Miss. – A shooting this afternoon left one injured, but in stable condition near 3rd North and Grove Street. The following statement was made by Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones.

Shooting Investigation Update

The Vicksburg Police Department responded to a reported shooting near 3rd North and Grove Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim, a 32-year-old Black male, had already been transported to the hospital by private vehicle. He is currently in stable condition.

Preliminary information indicates that the victim and the suspect are known to each other. The suspect was not present at the scene. Investigators are actively gathering details, and updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
